If you’ve ever been interested in developing a unique business of your own; empowered through the effective principles of technological advancements, the Barbados ICT Professional Association (BIPA) has you covered.
Ryan Nurse and Mark Ifill, representatives of BIDC made a truly enlightening speech to the membership of BIPA to simulate the truly provocative question; where does the Barbadian economy go from here?
With such a forum the conclusion is clear; technology through ICT advancements is a good way to go. Every invention, whether small or great, started with just an idea. Whether it was a “light bulb moment” or someone thought it was time to find a fix to a problem… it all began with an idea. The BIDC Incubator Programme (http://www.bidc.org/incubator) is intended for start-up and emerging businesses, its primary objective being to improve their chances of success by turning ideas into innovative products and services.
Members of the Barbados Community College were also in attendance; as the course of action required to transition an idea to a business was of high importance.
Thanks to our very own Margaret Leon; we were able to reach the BCC community to instill a long lasting lesson of the value of ICT and to provide valuable internship opportunities to its students of the Computer Studies Programme. Some of those students were on hand to tell of their experiences thus far at their currently assigned places of work. These young gentlemen told of the soft and technical skills they acquired in such a short space of time and showed immense gratitude at being offered such opportunities.
